I never saw myself as someone who 'has anxiety' before now. But it became obvious while taking a marketing course, that I felt anxiety around falling behind. The course creator had emphasized, "there is no behind" many times, yet still, I felt it, that gnawing feeling, "am I doing enough, keeping up?" That's anxiety. It feels stressful. As a coach & hypnotist, I'm owning that we all have imperfect stuff. Besides, I don't want to put up a facade of perfection. Perfection isn't what I strive for. Perfection isn’t very interesting, unlike people who are authentically being themselves.
The bowl in the image, an ex. of kintsugi, as a metaphor is more my cup of tea,"with the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum."
That is beautiful to me. The bowl was repairable, just as we are. To me, the kintsugi version is better even than the "perfect" unbroken version, because it’s what’s real about us as humans, too. We can break in a variety of ways and put ourselves back together, often being better than we originally were.
I’m a hypnotist and a certified coach. If you’d like my help to advance in a part of your life, the first step is to have a 45 minute consult call to talk about what you want to change and to see if we are a good fit, too.
